A FISHING business in Witton-le-Wear could finally get the go-ahead when councillors meet to decide its fate this evening.
Karen and Terry Jones are hoping to start trading on land west of Clemmy Bank, but have suffered several setbacks to their plans.
Last year, planning permission was rejected and the latest blow came at a planning meeting of Wear Valley District Council at the end of last month, when councillors deferred the application.
They were unhappy with plans for two static caravans, but an amended application with just one caravan will go before them tonight.
The plans, which also include a fish farm hatchery and rearing ponds, have been recommended for approval by planning officers.
