VOLUNTEERS are needed for some mind-boggling experiments next week.

Philosopher Julian Baggini, a journalist with The Guardian and Radio 4, will introduce volunteers to thought experiments during a visit to Newcastle next Saturday.

He will discuss examples from his latest book, The Pig That Wants To Be Eaten And 99 Other Thought Experiments, at 2pm in the Quaker Meeting House, in Jesmond.

The book answers philosophical questions by asking volunteers to look at scenarios.

He said: "People respond to thought experiments in many different and unpredictable ways, so I look forward to hearing what the people of Newcastle will make of them."

Admission is £1.
