THE schedule of prizes for one of County Durham's biggest agricultural shows is now available.

Organisers of Bowes Show, in Teesdale, hope that next month's show will be one of the best ever.

For the first time, the whole schedule is available to download from the show's website and organisers hope this will attract even more entrants.

Horse and pony secretary Robina Tranter said: "Last year, we had some information on the Internet and we did get some entries that way.

"It's the 21st Century now and most people have access to the Internet.

"We have also sent out 700 schedules and I have already had quite a few entries for horses."

This year, for the first time, the horse section will include a mixed mountain and moorland class.

It will also be a Shetland championship show, allowing entrants the chance to gain points for other events.

The sheep section is introducing a Mule class.

Interest is also high for the carriage-driving marathon which involves a 10k route over the fell.

As well as the traditional show activities, other attractions include a climbing wall and a barbecue and live band on the evening.

Numerous trade stands have also signed up to exhibit.

The show takes place on Saturday, September 10, from 9.30am.

Entries for all sections, except the dog section which can be entered on the day, are to be received by August 31.
