THE latest in a series of open garden events to raise money for a hospice appeal takes place next week.
Earlier this year, St Cuthbert's Hospice, in Durham City, launched the Key Appeal. The appeal, back by The Northern Echo, aims to raise enough money to build a £3.2m extension to offer 24-hour specialist palliative care.
Throughout the summer, private gardens around North Durham will be opened to the public to raise funds for the campaign.
From 1pm to 4pm on Saturday, August 13, the garden at 5 Cornwall Walk, in Belmont, Durham City, will open to visitors.
The Tweddle family landscaped the garden just two years ago, with lawns, stone walls, borders, trellis and planting areas.
Admission is by donation to the appeal and refreshments will be available. For information, ring 0191-386 1170.
