REGULAR bus travellers in Darlington are to benefit from having their fares frozen when single ticket prices rise on Sunday.
Stagecoach customers buying Darlington Dayrider passes can get unlimited travel for £1.80 a day while those with a Megarider pass can travel for seven days in the town for £5.50.
However passengers who buy single tickets should expect a rise of five to ten pence in their fares due to an increase in fuel, labour and insurance costs.
John Conroy, managing director of Stagecoach North East, said: "We are pleased that we have been able to freeze fares for regular passengers, such as people commuting, who use the buss most often.
"Unfortunately, we have been forced to increase certain fares, but we have kept these to the minimum and our fares are still great value."
