CHILDREN from a Darlington estate enjoyed a fun day at their local community centre.
Skerne Park youngsters enjoyed a climbing wall, henna tattooing, nail art, motorcycling, crafts and other sports.
A healthy barbecue and fruit meal was also provided for the 11-18-year-olds who went along yesterday.
The day was organised by Skerne Park and Parkside Community Partnership and Darlington Youth Service.
Sue Davison, community development worker, said the youngsters had enjoyed themselves. She said the motorcycling, on the grass next to the community centre, the henna tattooing and the climbing wall were their favourite activities.
She said: "They had fun and all the fruit went."
She said activities were already provided at the community centre for five to 11-year-olds on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and the community had wanted to put an event on for older children.
Rock-it Climbing, Darlington College, Motor Trax, Darlington Borough Council all put on activities.
Ms Davison wished to thank CCRISP, Skerne Park Youth and Community Association and Skerne Park Community Enterprise Association and Sainsburys and the Chatterbox Cafe for their contributions.
