YOUNG boat-builders put their artistic talents to the test at a museum fun day yesterday.
The Museum of Hartlepool entertained children throughout the day as part of its Monsters of the Deep exhibition, part of the Sea Britain celebrations.
Throughout the summer holidays, children and their parents can attend the museum, at Hartlepool's Historic Quay, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Families can visit the exhibition, make and race their own miniature boats, send signals with Morse code and even make a periscope.
The free activities are suitable for youngsters over seven, but they must be pre-booked.
A spokesman for the museum said: "Visit the Monsters of the Deep exhibition and then have a go at making your own sock sea serpents, underwater origami or a picture frame from a shark's jaws."
The children's sessions run from 10am to 11am and from 11am to noon. The afternoon sessions, for families, run from 1pm to 3.30pm.
