CHRIS Llewellyn is hoping for a more sedate outing at Victoria Park on Saturday than his last League One encounter at his new home.
Hartlepool United's new recruit has already witnessed the best and worst of his new club.
As a Wrexham player last season he was on the wrong end of a 5-1 demolition as Pool triumphed at the Racecourse Ground, but left the North-East a happy and bemused player in the return fixture.
Llewellyn had a hand in four goals as Wrexham triumphed 6-4 in March, one of the most bizarre games ever seen at Victoria Park.
Llewellyn, who is pushing for a debut at home to Bradford on Saturday, admitted: "It was one of the best games I have ever played in if I'm being honest and I guess it's one the fans won't forget - luckily enough for me I was on the winning team on the day.
"I spoke to some of the lads here about when I first signed and they said it was like playing football on the Playstation. It was entertaining but a bit manic.
"I've settled in really well and the lads here have helped me along.
"There's a good dressing room here and you could tell that from the moment I walked into the club.''
Llewellyn is one of five new signings made by boss Martin Scott this summer and, with competition for places strong in midfield and attack, the four-times capped Wales international admitted: "Everyone here is playing for their places. I'm not taking anything for granted and hope to force my way in.
"I found out towards the end of last season that Hartlepool were interested in me and, given the situation Wrexham were in, it was nice to have the chance to move to a good club like this.
"They were so close to going up last season and I spoke to the gaffer, who told me his plans, which are very exciting.
"I watched the play-off games last season with interest and I was cheering the lads on. Now our aim is to go one better this season.''
