A RARE insight into the role of propaganda films during the Second World War will be given during an illustrated talk later this month.
To coincide with the 60th anniversary of the end of the war, there will be a presentation by local film historian David Williams at the Clayport Library in Durham City on Monday, August 15.
It will include animated films made in Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan and the USA.
Mr Williams, a member of the Society for Animation Studies and a Fellow of the Royal Television Society, will explain how propaganda was used on both sides of the war to boost morale and generate hate. He has lectured on the subject around the globe.
The two-hour talk starts at 7.15pm. Admission is free, but by ticket only, available on 0191-386 4003.
