OTHER towns may be green with envy over Middlesbrough's repeated recognition at having some of the best-run parks in Britain.
The town's Stewart Park has won the coveted Green Flag award for the sixth successive year, the town's Pallister Park for the fifth year and Albert Park for the fourth year. There were only 17 Green Flag awards made by the Civic Trust in the North-East for the welcome given to visitors, the cleanliness of the park and community involvement.
Jim Moody, parks manager, said: "We are certainly gathering an impressive collection of green flags. They recognise the hard work put in by our staff and supporters.
"I'm delighted at their success. Their efforts continue to give Middlesbrough parks to be proud of."
