A GAME from the past is helping build for the future at The Travellers Rest at Skeeby, near Richmond.
Michael and Joyce Robinson, who took over the pub last November, have reintroduced quoits.
The game, which involves pitching steel rings towards a pin embedded in a clay pit, is traditionally associated with the north of England.
Since laying a quoits pitch as part of a recent external refurbishment they have noticed a big increase in customers.
The garden redevelopment was funded by Tadcaster Pub Company.
Managing director James Crawfurd-Porter, said it was pleasing that the new facilities have had such an impact on trade.
