MUSIC fans at a Darlington club enjoyed a trip around the globe this weekend as part of World Music Day.
The free event saw live music of all types and origins played together in the same venue.
Fans enjoyed steel drums, flamenco and Spanish guitar and Latin percussion.
As well as the live music, there were craft stalls, workshops and food from around the world available at The Forum music centre, in Darlington.
The day started at 1pm and continued through to 11pm, concluding with two live sets from Raga Nova - a band which combines sitar, saxophone and percussion from north and south India.
The workshops included an African percussion session, where participants started with drum beats, building up to a layered rhythm.
Forum manager Jennifer Laycock said: "It went really well.
"I think about 250 people passed through the doors and we will definitely do something similar again in the next few months.
"An event like this has never been tried in Darlington before, but it is good, it exposes people to things that they haven't been exposed to before and promotes cultural diversity."
Funding came from the Arts Council. It was sponsored by The Northern Echo's music website Revolution and organised by Revolution and The Forum.
