A DOG show with a difference was held in the region at the weekend.
Barking was banned at Stufts, a competition for stuffed toy dogs, at the Corner Centre, in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, on Saturday.
There were more than 100 entries dressed up in costumes ranging from famous footballers to top pop stars.
Fashion designers Nicole Farhi and Scarborough-born Anne Louise Roswald also submitted entries.
The dogs were given a once-over by experienced dog show judges, before being taken on parade around the ring.
The competition was organised by the Wilf Ward Family Trust, a North Yorkshire charity which helps people with learning disabilities.
Richard Pacey, the trust's chief executive, said: "It was a wonderful day with lots of enjoyment for everyone who came to see what was happening and for those taking part."
The idea for the show, sponsored by Scarborough chain store Boyes, came after charity workers auctioned off a Wayne Rooney stuffed dog during the World Cup last year.
Store chairman Andrew Boyes presented a trophy to the overall winner, Hotdog, a stuffed dog sewn into a bread roll made by charity service users from Beechlands, in Scarborough.
Mr Boyes said: "The trust does some really good work and is seen as a forward thinking organisation."
