MORE than 40 social services workers are celebrating after gaining nationally-recognised qualifications over the past few months.
Many of the staff work directly with people in their own homes, day centres, or residential establishments. Some have gained National Vocational Qualifications in care.
The qualifications were presented earlier this week by North Yorkshire County Council's head of county care, Tony Campbell.
County Councillor Chris Metcalfe, executive member for community services, said: "I would like to congratulate this group of staff on their achievement.
"It is always a great pleasure to see the commitment of staff rewarded by their qualification achievements.
"The quality of our services depends on the skills and attributes of our staff and today demonstrates why we deliver to a high standard. They should be as proud of their achievement as I am of them.
