DARLINGTON can be satisfied with the way their build up to the new season has gone, according to assistant manager Mark Proctor.
With just eight days to go before the start of the new League Two season, Quakers make their final friendly appearance at Durham City tonight.
While a behind-closed-doors game will put the finishing touches to preparations next week, this evening's encounter at the Archibalds Stadium (7.30) will be the last public outing for David Hodgson's men, before their curtain-raiser at Rushden a week tomorrow.
Recording two wins (Harrogate and Barrow) and two defeats (Leeds and Bradford) in pre-season, Proctor is happy with the way Quakers are shaping up.
"We were very positive against Bradford and overall we've been pleased with the way things have gone so far," said Proctor.
"There are still one or two areas we still need to work on, but that's what pre-season is all about.
"The new season is just around the corner and I'm sure the Durham game will give us another opportunity to look at our overall game."
Trialist Carlos Logan will be given another chance to earn a permanent deal tonight after the winger impressed against Bradford City three days ago.
Chesterfield are also admirers of Logan, after impressing on-loan from Manchester City last season. Prior to linking up with the Quakers squad earlier this week, Logan had been training with the Spireites.
"Carlos did exceptionally well against Bradford and he's certainly worth another look against Durham," said Proctor.
Manager David Hodgson will take another look at Congolese striker Guy Ndumbu-Nsungu tonight, along with Anthony Peacock, Nathan Jameson and Andy Ferrell.
Durham will include ex-Quakers duo Gary Pearson and Garry Barnes.
A team of former Quakers stars will play Northallerton Town on Sunday (3pm) to help raise money towards forming a Darlington wheelchair football team.
The game, which is being held at Ainderby Road in Northallerton, has been arranged by the Darlington Supporters' Trust and Football in the Community scheme and will feature the likes of Liddle, Kevan Smith and Adam Reed.
