A HEARTBROKEN family has made a fresh appeal to trace their pet dog, who was lost during floods.
Dewi, an 11-year-old border collie, disappeared after floods tore through Rye Boarding Kennels at Hawnby, northern Ryedale, on June 19.
Owner Julie Eccleston, of North End, Boltby, said miles of countryside had been searched without success.
"Dewi is a laid-back character - a lovely dog and he was a good swimmer," she said.
The family's other pets - cats Peggy Sue and Hannibal and sheepdog Keri - were also staying at the kennels but were rescued.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Mrs Eccleston on (01845) 537605.
* Mary Griffiths, who runs Rye Boarding Kennels, vowed that they would reopen, probably as early as September, at a higher point in Hawnby.
She said: "We have been inundated with offers of help from a very wide area and with donations from as far away as Penzance.
"We do want to thank everyone who has helped us because our home was destroyed and with it our business."
