THE number of people complaining about hospitals run by the Scarborough and North East Yorkshire NHS Trust has doubled in the past year.
Marian Pearson, executive director of nursing, told the trust board meeting that the increases were in complaints about attitude, delays, waiting times and cancellations.
The number of complaints about care, comfort, food, cleanliness and car parking remained unchanged.
Ms Pearson said 169 complaints about hospitals in Scarborough, Whitby, Malton and Bridlington had been made in the past year and 297 letters and cards of appreciation received.
