POLICE are appealing for witnesses to two separate road accidents in the Crook area.
On Wednesday, at 7.30am, a motorcyclist on a Suzuki 1400cc tried to overtake a tractor and trailer at Billy Row Bank on the B6298, close to a junction off North Lane.
As the bike overtook, it collided with a Renault van, which was also trying to overtake.
The 32-year-old driver of the van was unhurt, but the 46-year-old motorcyclist, from Billy Row, injured his shoulder.
Police believe that the driver of the tractor may have witnessed the incident.
The second incident happened on Tuesday at about 10am, outside Greggs, in Hope Street, Crook.
A white Iveco van was reversing when it struck an 80-year-old woman, who was crossing the road.
She broke her arm and hit her head and was kept overnight at the University Hospital in Durham.
Anybody who saw either incident is asked to call Crook police on 0845 606 0365.
