A RETIRED firefighter is hoping to find old photographs of a Barnard Castle shop.
Dennis Barker, of Woodside, in the town, is looking for pictures of the old Lipton's tea shop, in Horsemarket.
The building, which is next to the Witham Hall, now houses an Oxfam shop.
Mr Barker, who is originally from Sunderland, is interested in the shop because before joining the fire service he used to manage the Lipton's shop in Maryport, Cumberland.
He is now a keen collector of Lipton's memorabilia.
He said: "We used to get our eggs delivered from Barnard Castle. Lipton's is famous for its tea but was also a greengrocers and sold provisions.
"Because it is in that part of the town, I'm sure there must be an old photograph of it.
"I've found photographs of the building before it became a Lipton's shop, but none of it when it was."
Anyone who can help can contact Mr Barker on (01833) 630997.
