A MAN was yesterday questioned by detectives searching for missing teenager Jenny Nicholl.
The 45-year-old man was arrested in Richmond, North Yorkshire, yesterday morning in connection with an alleged attempt to pervert the course of justice.
He was taken to Northallerton police station for questioning and was released on police bail last night.
Miss Nicholl, 19, was last seen at her home in Richmond on June 30. Her white Rover 214i car was found in a pub car park on the edge of the town four days later.
Extensive searches of woodland and countryside around Richmond have been carried out.
The teenager's parents, Brian and Ann Nicholl, said they had been waiting by the phone, hoping to hear their daughter has been found safe and well.
Police also announced yesterday they intended to ask rock fans for information.
Officers said the teenager loved rock music and played guitar in a local band, called No Fouling, several years ago.
On Friday, they will appeal for information to crowds at a Darlington Festival concert in the town's market square.
The following weekend, detectives will talk to rock fans at the two-day Richmond Live concert on the Batts in the town.
Detective Inspector Peter Martin said: "I believe there may be someone in or near Richmond who has heard from Jenny, or has a good idea where she is.
"Just one call to the police from that person could end weeks of pain and anxiety for her parents and friends."
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call police on (01423) 539334.
