Two men travelling on a train from the North-East towards London have been arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
The pair were arrested last night after the GNER service from Newcastle to King's Cross was stopped at Grantham Railway Station. The train was stopped at around 11pm last night after the alarm was raised by two off-duty Metropolitan Police officers, who were travelling on the same service.
Lincolnshire Police officers then detained the men under the Prevention of Terrorism Act and they will be questioned this morning.
The train continued its journey to London, arriving in the capital at around 3.15am.
