Tuesday - The carnival atmosphere will be in full swing as the crews join in a procession through the city streets.
Wednesday - The evening before the Parade of Sail, the Tyne will be brought alive with a spectacular fireworks display, choreographed lighting, projections and music.
Thursday - The Parade of Sail when the ships will leave Newcastle and Gateshead quaysides from about 8am. It will take about two hours for all the ships to move out and another two to reach the river mouth, so the last vessel will head out to sea by about midday. In the afternoon, the ships will line up off the coast to start the race. The best vantage points will be nine miles down river at the North and South Shields' harbour areas.
