POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two people were attacked in separate incidents on Friday.
A 22-year-old woman suffered minor injuries when she was assaulted at about 10.15am while sitting on a bench in Ings Lane, Brotton.
She described her attacker as Asian, in his 20s, about 5ft 10in and wearing a white baseball cap, white or grey hooded top and dark trousers.
In Guisborough, a 37-year-old man suffered a broken collar bone after being assaulted by three or four men at the junction of Park Lane and Allison Street.
Police would particularly like to speak to an elderly man who came to the victim's aid after the unprovoked attack at about 11.15pm.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Paul Gordon, of Cleveland Police, on (01642) 302626 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
