Supermarket group Somerfield may be forced by the Competition Commission to sell six of its stores in the North-East that it bought from rival retail chain Morrisons.
Somerfield bought 115 former Safeway Shops for £260m last year, but the commission believed this has reduced competition in 14 towns across the UK.
