EASINGTON Primary Care Trust has published a leaflet in a bid to reduce the number of falls and fractures suffered by elderly residents.
It contains information on how to reduce trips and falls in the home as well as promoting the benefits of a healthy diet and exercise.
The leaflet has been produced by the trust's falls and osteoporosis service, which offers specialist care through nursing, physiotherapy, podiatry and occupational therapy.
Vivienne Lee, falls and osteoporosis service co-ordinator, who is based at Seaham Health Centre, said: "Our new leaflet aims to give some brief advice on how to stay healthy, safe and independent."
For a copy of the leaflet, contact the service on 0191-581 2461.
