YOUNGSTERS at two secondary schools have completed a crime and safety study.
The pupils, from Stokesley and Bedale, took part in a programme called Crime Challenges, run by the Hambleton Community Safety Partnership.
They studied anti-social behaviour, road safety, drugs, alcohol, arson and hoax calls.
For the first time, domestic abuse was also on the agenda and the Stokesley pupils also looked at trespass and vandalism, while those in Bedale covered bogus callers.
The 11 and 12-year -olds produced plays and posters at the end of the challenge.
It was the third time both schools have taken part in the initiative - run in most secondary schools in Hambleton by the partnership.
The idea is to get year seven pupils to consider crime and safety issues that affect them and their communities.
Each youngster who took part received certificates, and gift vouchers were awarded to the 20 best students.
