A VILLAGE church is hosting two exhibitions of embroidery and brass-rubbing.
The church, in Baldersby St James, near Ripon, will host an exhibition of church embroideries, including a new altar kneeler, and rubbings of Yorkshire church brass from the Memorial Brass Society.
The exhibitions run for a week from Saturday, August 6, from 10am to 6pm. Refreshments will be available.
On Friday, August 5, there will be a preview evening with wine and a finger buffet starting at 7.30pm.
There will be an opportunity to view the exhibition, followed at 8pm by a lecture from Martin Stuchfield, the conservation officer of the Monumental Brass Society. He will speak on the importance of monumental brasses through the ages.
Tickets are £8 for adults and £5 for concessions, available at the door.
Proceeds will go towards the restoration of the 160ft church spire.
