PUPILS have been rewarded for their good behaviour with climbing wall and bouncy castle sessions at the end of a long term.
The students in the blue caterpillar house at Whinfield Primary School, won the inter-house contest.
Children aged seven to 11 are divided into four groups in the school - blue caterpillars, yellow dragonflies, red spiders, green grasshoppers - and each team competes for a reward for their good behaviour.
Teachers hand out "bugs" to children when they are spotted behaving well, being attentive and helpful, and then the number each house has collected is counted at the end of each term.
The team with the highest number of bugs, and therefore the best behaviour, wins a reward - and this week the blue caterpillars were enjoying their treat.
Headteacher Sheila Williams said: "They won by a long way, getting 694 bugs. The next best was the yellow dragonflies and they got 564 bugs.
"They had a wonderful time and it is something they wouldn't normally get to do.
"The idea has been going for about three years. It helps to boost self esteem."
