Foster's Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League: Nakitta Miller makes a timely return for Annfield Plain at Ponteland this afternoon.
He has missed several matches while touring Sri Lanka with the West Indies A team and the Plain are pleased to have him available again with five regulars sidelined.
Chris Robinson, Lee Harrison and Ray Oliver are away while John Newstead is getting married which means brother David is another absentee.
"Ponteland are just 13 points behind and if they win they will leapfrog us. Obviously going into the fixture minus five players is a massive blow," said fixture secretary Lee Maddison.
Although Ponteland are fourth bottom they have proved capable of beating the best and last Sunday won the Foster's Cup with victory over second-top Ashington.
Today Ashington are at home to second bottom Lanchester and with vice-captain Greg Williams ruled out. Kevin Dixon Snr has picked up an injury so Stuart Kelly deputises for him in the Lanchester team.
Swalwell, with a two point lead at the top, are involved in the match of the day at third placed Leadgate.
Sacriston are unchanged at Benwell and Walbottle who are 16 points adrift at the bottom.
Newcastle City go into their mid table fixture with Shotley Bridge unable to call upon Surgit Singh and Tom Jones which leaves the way open for Aman Dhindsa and Adnan Majeed.
Tynedale are in contention for the title and go to Burnopfield still looking for a replacement professional for Stuart Graham. Anyone interested in the position is asked to contact Gary Cant on 01434 604674.
