Belle Vue went down to their first defeat when they travelled to Ferryhill for the eagerly awaited top of the table clash in the darts section.
The match lived up to its billing with the home side making a great start by taking the team game and the first singles through Ray Brown.
Keith Newton pulled one back for the Crook side but then saw Tony Nixon, Dave Bestford and Phil Nixon move Ferryhill into a winning lead before wins from Brian Nesbitt and Kevin Hawkey made the scoreline respectable.
Bob Slater of Billy Row hit two darts maximums, while there was one apiece from Paul Atkinson (Willington), Dave Bestford and Phil Nixon (both Ferryhill) and Keith Newton (Belle Vue). Cockton Hill's Eddie Nixon made the week's best check-out with 136.

Oakenshaw Club made a great start at Australian A in the top match of the quarter finals when they took the lead with three singles points at pool from Dale Wilson, Tony Leighton and Dave Bennett and two dominoes points from Ernie Plummer and Tony Leighton. Geoff Belshaw scored the only early point for the Australian.
The home side recovered as Mark Scott, Geoff Belshaw and John Allot scored single pool points then followed this by taking two of the three doubles.
But Oakenshaw took a two-point lead into the second leg when Dale Wilson and Mark Kitching won the final dominoes points.
In the Hunwick derby the Quarry Burn only picked up four points when they visited the Club.
Alan McClurg and Keith Dufton took pool points for the Burn, while Andy Carr and Keith Dufton added dominoes points.
The Club had pool singles points from Mike O'Brian, Mark Edney, Robert Todd and Ian Richardson, and then added all three doubles points and the final three dominoes points.
Brian Smith, Darren Perkins, Donald Young and Craig Eales took the first four pool points for the Black Horse when they entertained the Australian B, who had Steve Grant and Paul Johnson as pool winners.
The Australian trail by six points going into the second leg after recording only one pool doubles and a singles dominoes win from Jeff Cass.
No score card was received from the match between the Market and Brewer's Droop.
