Summer League

Brandon lost their unbeaten record in Division Two when they visited Durham City and went down in the decider.

Barry Stoddart and Hamaed Choudhury put the home side ahead but Graeme Jackson and John Middleton squared the match. In the decider Durham's Michael Pratt beat Kevin Sample.

This defeat has pushed Brandon into shared second place with Belle Vue, two points behind leaders Willington who were pushed all the way by the visiting Ferryhill.

Paul Atkinson and Jeremy Martin put the home side two up but then John Veitch, with a 30 break, and Bernie Jones levelled the scores. In the decider Colin Lomax took Willington to victory with a black ball win over Gary Toas.

Belle Vue defeated the visiting Newhouse A by the odd point to grab a share of second spot.

Derek Potts, Harold Lomax and Norman Slack won for Crook with Keith Mann and Ian Dinsdale replying.

Wingate are a point behind Belle Vue after winning at Langley Park by the odd point.

Paul Nord and Ray Coates won for the Park, while Dave Hammond, Dean Jones and Kevin Thirlaway saw Wingate to victory.

Shotton Palms came back against the visiting Newton Aycliffe to win the decider when Jimmy Evans beat Richie Young.

Paul Hickman had put the Palms ahead only for Peter Brown and Ronnie Hall to win for Aycliffe. Dave Swindle then won for the home side to set up the decider.

Old Shildon moved two points clear at the top of Division One after dropping only one point to the visiting Sherburn Village, who had A Greener as their only winner.

The Shildon points came from Michael Pratt, Billy Goggins, with a 51 break, Jossie Aldworth and Charlie Blake.

Second placed Wheatley Hill A lost ground on Old Shildon when they were beaten in the decider at home to Witton Gilbert.

Ian Kerr put the visitors ahead but Dean Bryden and Dave Walker then scored for the Hill.

Willis Joynes equalised for Witton before John Rooney senior took Witton Gilbert to victory be beating Alan Hall.

This win moves Witton Gilbert into joint third place with Fishburn A and Spennymoor A.

Fishburn A went down in the decider when they entertained Spennymoor A.

Tommy Carter and Charlie Hirst scored for Fishburn but the Moors equalised through Kevin Riley and Paul Biddle, who knocked in a 41 break.

In a tight decider, the Moors Eddie Rhodes beat John Griffin on the black.

Meadowfield lost the sole leadership of Division Three when they went down in the decider at home to Fishburn B.

The visitors went two up through Darren Nicholson and George Whitelock, but Craig Hughes and brother Malcolm squared the match before Fishburn's Winston Hodgson clinched victory by beating Barry Crooks.

Spennymoor B retained their unbeaten record when they came back from two down at home to Billy Row to win in the decider.

Ernie McEleavey and Alan Hodgson put the visitors ahead only to see Micky Anderson and Wayne Parry level the match.

In the decider the Moors' Alan Shaw beat Ken Campbell.

Newhouse B lost their chance to close the gap on the leaders when they lost by the odd point at home to Crowtrees.

Sonny Hann put Crowtrees ahead but Alan McCluskey, with a 37 break, and Brian Eltringham, with a 39 break, moved Newhouse in front.

Martin Wolf then put Crowtrees on terms before Keith McLaughlan took the visitors to victory by knocking in a 32 break to beat John O'Driscoll.

Hunwick moved joint third with Newhouse B after defeating visitors Tow Law in the decider.

John Bate and Arnold Fleming put the home side ahead with Ken Robinson and Malcolm Umpelby replying.

In the decider Hunwick's Trevor Lomax beat Bill McCluskey.

Hopetown's home win over the Southerne Club lifted them to share top spot in the First Division with Albert Hill, who were held at Darlington Snooker Club A. West Auckland are five points adrift in third place.

Old Shildon went down to their first defeat in the Second Division when the visiting Harrowgate Hill beat them.

This allowed Darlington Cricket Club to move level on top with Harrowgate Hill just two points adrift.

Folly's A moved seven points clear in the Third Division with Carpies safely in second place five points ahead of Folly's B and the Kingsway A.

Carlin How WMC A look to have clinched the runners-up spot in Division One after a 3-3 draw with main rivals Guisborough Cons A put them two points ahead going into the last match.

Redcar WMC A increased their lead with a 5-1 success at Lakes SC B

and showed their strength in depth showing, after neither Richard Beckham nor Brian Norris were in the side.

In a close fought match, Ennis Square SC A won 4-2 at Lune Street A.

Michael Collantine put the home side ahead with a 58-49 victory in the first frame against Kevin Moon but then lost the second 50-45.

Derek Leadbitter then put the visitors in front with a 54-52 success against K Haywood who tied the match when he took the next frame 52-39 before Ricky Warrior clinched the visitors' victory when he defeated Neil Grainger 42-25 and 61-48.

New Marske B completed their campaign with a defeat, losing 4-2 at the Citz A, Gordon Matthews winning the last two frames for the visitors.

Saltburn Cons B were only able to field two players when they faced Marske WMC A and lost 5-1.

But the Marske win doesn't look enough to stop Redcar WMC B taking the title who, with a game still to play, defeated visitors Redcar Unionists A 5-1.

The Unionists' B team won by the same margin when they entertained British Steel A for whom Paul Sigsworth recorded the only point.

Carlin How WMC B beat visitors Wilton Golf A 4-2, with the home sides' Ross McMillan coming unstuck when he faced Bill Jones in his last two frames.

Saltburn Cons A showed their improved form with a 3-3 draw at Redcar Cons A, John McCabe tying the scores with a 45-35 win against Ian Whittle in the second frame after losing the first 67-32.

Ian Walton became only the third player this season to take two frames off Redcar's Mick McDermott with scores of 70-59 and 69-43, and it was left to Lee Millar to tie the match with wins of 42-9 and 51-27 over Ted Walker.
