PLANS to demolish a Scout hut and replace it with a bungalow are likely to be rejected by councillors.
Council officers have recommended that Redcar and Cleveland's planning committee reject the application to build behind Tithe Barn, in Marske High Street, when they meet for a site visit on Wednesday, June 21.
The council has received two letters objecting to the plans, on the grounds that the bungalow would increase congestion and would be too close to the barn, which is a listed building.
A report to the council said: "The use of the Scout hut has been on a seasonal basis, generally early evening and possibly weekends. The majority of the day would be vacant.
"The occupation of a dwelling would be a constant use where the comings and goings could be a source of nuisance as the two properties are close together.
