FORMER Redcar and Cleveland Councillor Harry Forster returned to Redcar Retired Men's base for his third time to give further insights into Redcar Cricket Club's 150 years continuous presence in the town.
Author of two books detailing Redcar CC's progress, Mr Forster spoke of the influence of Redcar's forefathers in the formation of the club.
Henry Arthur Turner Newcommen gave the land and the cricket club featured in the North Yorks league of 1893. One prominent players was HF Wade, who went on to captain the South African Test team of 1935.
A lively question and answer session from the 69 members at the presentation was an indication of the interest and loyalty the club still commands.
