The Wearside League, which will not be sponsored by Nissan for the coming season, will operate as one division with 20 clubs when the season gets underway on Saturday, August 12.
At the annual meeting held in Sunderland it was reported that Red House WMC, Herrington CW, Wallsend Town and Workington Reserves had all resigned.
Crook Town manager Alan Shoulder has been given a vote of confidence by the club's committee at a meeting held last Wednesday at Millfield SC, Crook.
Shoulder, who took Crook to the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup, the last 31 of the FA Vase, and to a respectable mid-table position in Division One of the Albany Northern League last season, said: "I want to build on the achievements of last year, and develop the club so that it can realise its full potential."
His development plans include a coaching course, new teams, (seven-a-side and women's) a lottery bid and restructuring within the club. These plans will be discussed at the club's annual meeting at Millfield on June 22, 7pm. All members are invited to attend.
Alan Bains of Northumbria Police received the manager of the year award when the Ashley Air Products Over-40s League held its presentation evening last Friday.
Police have been promoted to the Premier League after taking the Division One title this season.
Ged Forrest from Station Wanderers was named player of the year after his outstanding season with the Premier League winners.
All clubs must be represented at the annual meeting of the Crook and District League at the Blue Bells on June 15, 7.30pm.

The Darlington Church and Friendly League will hold its annual meeting on Tuesday, June 6 at the RA club, Brinkburn Road, Darlington, 7.15pm.
All clubs must be represented and any new club wishing to enter a team in the league should also attend.
Dunelm Youth are looking for Year 5 boys (Year 6 in September) to strengthen two existing teams for next season when the sides will compete in an Under-11 seven-a-side league.
