A PREVIEW to a fundraising musical event was held on Saturday to raise awareness of the charity event.
The second annual Maltby Day is to be held on Saturday, 24 June, and is the brainchild of Peter Reynolds and Mark Oakley, of The Yorkshire Dragoon at Maltby.
It is dedicated to two local charities, the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, chosen by the two landlords, and St John Ambulance, which was chosen by members of the Yorkshire Dragoon's resident motor club, the Rain Dancers. Last year, the charities received £600 each from the event.
The therapy centre is the only one of it's type between the borders of Scotland and Yorkshire Dales and offers a variety of treatments to it's members. The centre does not receive any financial help from either regional or national government and costs £1,200 a week to run.
The day is supported by ten of the top groups in Teesside and there are sideshows, stalls and children's entertainments as well as a visit from a local Viking re-enactment society.
Food is also available and a free bus service will leave from outside Safeway at Ingleby Barwick and Yarm at hourly intervals.
