A FRIENDLY cat is looking for a new home, preferably without any small children.
Milly is a six-year-old cat, who is fully house-trained, neutered and vaccinated until November.
Her family asked Kensington Veterinary Care, in Green Street, Darlington, to find a home for Milly after the arrival of a baby.
A spokesman at the practice said: "Milly was not used to having a small child around, and the baby was beginning to toddle, and try to play with her. Milly didn't like it. She is a lovely friendly tortoiseshell cat, but obviously we wouldn't recommend that she go to a family with small children. She wants peace and quiet."
Anyone who would like to adopt Milly should contact (01325) 469165.
l STAFF at a veterinary surgery are trying to find a home for a dog injured in a road accident.
Sally was badly cut and bruised when it wandered into the path of a car in the Sherburn Road area of Durham City about two months ago. The driver took it to the Gilesgate Veterinary Group.
"She is one of many dogs allowed to wander the streets," said a spokeswoman.
"She was cut, bruised and bumped but we have nursed her back to health.
"We feel she hasn't had a good start to life and now we want to find a nice, loving home for her. She deserves it.
"She is small, about a year to 18 months old, and we think she will be good around a family."
Anyone interested in taking Sally is asked to call Jack or Fran on 0191-384 0608
l The RSPCA number to call with information about a lurcher dog found on wasteland near Portrack Lane, Stockton is (08705) 555999 and not as previously reported.
