TWO Darlington teenage golfers could well be swinging into the Guinness Book of Records.
Cousins Michael and Mark Pattinson are notching up so many holes-in-one at Darlington Golf Club that their names could well enter the book of fame.
Talented 15-year-old Mark was the latest to land his second eagle on the par three ninth hole within two years.
Less than two weeks ago, 17-year-old Michael had scored a hat-trick with his third hole-in-one at the club.
Mark, a pupil at Longfield School, is currently on work experience - but still not far away from the fairway having landed a placement in the pro-shop at the club.
The golfing sensations seem to be unaware how many golfers are green with envy at their skill.
Describing his latest moment of triumph, Mark, of Washbrook Drive, Harrowgate Hill, said: "I used a five iron. The ball bounced once and then went straight into the hole."
Mark, who plays off a handicap of 11, started the sport only three years ago and has already realised the golfer's dream twice - each time at the ninth hole.
A spokesman for the Guinness Book of Records told The Northern Echo that they would encourage the pair to submit a claim.
"It is difficult to comment as to whether they would be included. But they should definitely submit a claim which would go before a panel of researchers," he said.
