RESIDENTS of Redcar took to the roads by bike on Sunday to participate in the Redcar Seaside Pedal Special in aid of the Leukaemia Research Fund.
The event was organised jointly by the Cleveland and Middlesbrough branch of the Leukaemia Research Fund and Redcar Town Centre Management.
The bikers set off from the town's Majuba car park and cycled to Marske then back to the original starting point. A second shorter challenge for toddlers left at the same time.
Adult entrants paid £3 and juniors paid £2 to take part. The money raised went to the Leukaemia Research Fund. All entrants received a T-shirt and a medal.
Fund chairman Kathy Gale said 200 entrants took part last year and £3,800 was raised. She hoped this year's event would smash that total
