CYCLISTS across the region took part in a sponsored ride to raise money for charity.
More than 100 cyclists took part in the Tetley Tour de Teasside yesterday to raise money for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.
Among the field was 26-year-old Pauline Warburton, from Hartburn, Stockton.
It was the first time she had taken part in a Tetley bike ride, but decided to do so to help the charity find new answers to cancer.
She said: "Unfortunately, members of my family have suffered from cancer, and it is a disease which touches so many people.
"I wanted to do my bit to help to raise as much money as possible for vital research into all forms of cancer."
The ride covered two circular routes, one of 30km and one of 60km, and both routes started and finished at the Tetley GB Factory, in Eaglescliffe.
Lindsay Kay, area appeals executive, said: "The event is in its seventh year and since 1994, it has raised £90,000 for research into all forms of cancer. We are hoping this year has been even more successful."
