SHOPPERS were given the chance to see themselves in a completely different light at the weekend.
Customers at the Cleveland Centre, Middlesbrough, had their faces captured on paper by caricaturist Paul Slattery.
Paul, 32, hit the headlines last year when he created a 62ft by 30ft caricature of footballer Alan Shearer, then hung it from the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle to raise money for the NSPCC.
The caricature was the biggest ever created and won its place in the Guinness Book of Records.
He has been creating caricatures for the past ten years and started up his own business in Newcastle three years ago.
He said: "I have only had a couple of bad experiences when people have not been happy about their caricatures, but I'm usually quite kind."
Although the caricatures were free of charge, donations were taken for the Teesside Hospice, the centre's chosen charity for the summer.
David Ward, Cleveland Centre manager, said: "Paul is a very talented artist and I'm glad he is going to be joining us this summer.
"At the same time, we hope to raise as much money as possible for the Teesside Hospice."
Paul will be at the centre drawing caricatures on July 28, and August 23 and 26.
