A DIETER has gained one thousand pounds - in clothes vouchers.
Kathleen Pentland, of Bishop Auckland, realised she needed a new wardrobe after dieting and soon afterwards found she had won £1,000 worth of clothes in a draw at Courtaulds Factory Shop, West Auckland.
She said: "It's come at a good time; I've been dieting since February and lost one-and-a-half stone, so all my clothes are too big.
"When the store rang me up and said I had won £1,000 worth of vouchers it didn't sink in properly and I had to ask her to repeat it."
Despite her large budget, Kathleen has not bought any clothes yet, but has until November to spend her winnings.
