AN England soccer fan who was arrested for drunken behaviour told a policeman, "I'll bet you're a German," a court heard yesterday.
Bryan Cowling, 26, a welder, ignored a warning about his abusive behaviour at 2.20am last Sunday outside Club Kudos in Redcar, after England's Euro 2000 victory over Germany, said Carol McMullen, prosecuting.
Cowling of Walmer Crescent, New Marske, Redcar, was fined £60 with £40 costs by Teesside magistrates after he pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.
