A YOUTH who reached through a bus driver's window and snatched a bag containing more than £100 in fares is being hunted by police.
The 50-year-old woman driver tried to fight back, but the youth, aged about 17, escaped on foot across a pub car park. The driver suffered cuts and bruises.
The incident happened when the 63A Arriva bus from Redcar to Middlesbrough pulled up at a stop near the BP garage in Ormesby High Street at about 5.10pm on Tuesday.
The muscular thief was earlier sitting on the wall outside The Fountain pub. He was about 5ft 6in, with fair hair and wearing a white T-shirt. Anyone with information is asked to call officers on (01642) 302626.
