SIX youths were arrested yesterday morning over an attack last week which left a teenager seriously injured.
The 15-year-old was assaulted at Ferryhill, County Durham, on Monday, June 12, and is still unconscious in Newcastle General Hospital, although his condition is described as stable.
Surgeons operated to remove a blood clot from his brain following the attack.
Detective sergeant Paul Roe, who is leading the inquiry, said last night the boy was out of danger.
The youths were arrested in Ferryhill, and were interviewed by Sedgefield police throughout the day.
The six were released on police bail last night pending further inquiries.
