HUSH-HUSH security measures have been introduced to protect a resort's flower power.
About 350 hanging baskets were put on display in Saltburn this week along with 74 tubs of flowers.
Jackie Taylor, who coordinated the operation, said sites were being provided with anti-crime protection. Special security has been introduced following past wrecking raids.
Plants have been stolen in previous incidents, including one on the eve of visits from judges assessing Saltburn for a place in the Britain in Bloom competition.
Miss Taylor warned: "If anyone is caught they will be prosecuted."
The displays have been organised in a partnership between the Saltburn 500 club and Saltburn Residents' Association.
Volunteers worked all day to hang the baskets, which have increased in number this year, with all 40 seafront lampposts decked with plants.
