WITH the sun shining, Darlington RA's skipper recognised a super batting track and decided to bat first on winning the toss.
But the Durham side gave a poor display and Marske's Tim Hood took full advantage, returning six for 31 off 13 overs. Paul Freery, 16, with 31 was the only RA batsman to show any confidence for the visitors, who were bowled out for 125.
Professional Stewart Hutton was in determined mood to make sure Marske secured their second win of the season.
He batted through the innings for 69 not out as Marske reached their target with the loss of two wickets in 36.2 overs.
Marske won by eight wickets.
Darlington RA 125 all out (P Freery 31, S Walker 23, T S Hood 6-31, S Hutton 2-16); Marske 126 for 2 (S Hutton 69no, A M Pattison 20, D J Eckels 1-29, R Chismon 1-36).
