THE general public will be given a chance to take to the water on Sunday when Scaling Dam Sailing Club holds an open day.
Children will be able to try sailing in an Optimist boat while club members will take others for a trip on the water in larger dinghies.
The club has three special boats called Challengers for people with physical disabilities. Disabled visitors are invited to the club on Saturday as well as Sunday.
Food will be available in the clubhouse during the day. There is no fee for the sailing and visitors are asked to bring a towel and change of old, warm clothes plus any windcheater-type clothing and old trainers/sandshoes. All ages are welcome between 11am and 4pm. The club is midway between Guisborough and Whitby on the A171.
