Bass North Cleveland League
Brotton had 51 runs to spare when they visited Staithes. Batting first Brotton totalled 195 for eight with Broughton contributing 65 while for Staithes Allen had four wickets for 37 runs.
When they went into bat Staithes could only muster124 runs and Sayers top-scored with 34 batting at number ten. Whitwell had a good day with the ball for Brotton with six for 33.
Moorsholm were all out for 51 in 27.1 overs when they visited New Marske in Division One.
Gary Alderson, a junior, sent down 10.1 overs and captured his first five wickets when ending with five for 20. Lee Payne gave good support with three for 11 and New Marske went on to win by eight wickets in 13.3 overs as Payne completed a good game carrying his bat for 34 runs.
Dormans reached 117 before dismissing Loftus for 101. Patten (36) was in good form for Dormans while Barritt claimed three for 18 and Dixon four for 35 in the Loftus attack. Dale, with five for 36 and Ramzan (4-17) then earned Dormans a 16 runs victory.
Hinderwell won by 100 runs when they visited Normanby Parklands. The visiters posted 156 for five with runs from Swain (34) and Bowes (44) while for Normanby Parklands Ramzan took three for 44. Responding Normanby Parklands were all out for 56 as Theaker claimed five for 24 runs.
The match between the Ladle and Greatham Paragonians ended in a draw with identical scores of 72. Melrose claimed six for 19 in the visitors' attack while for Ladle's Mullen had seven for 43.
Dormanstown reached 119 for nine but failed to bowl out Middlesbrough Coop who held on at 102 for nine thanks to a late 26 by Tweedy. Hatch with five for 49 and Lloyd (3-40) were the bowlers who almost snatched victory for Dormanstown.
When Dormanstown batted first they were grateful to a half century by Johnson in 119 for nine while for Middlesbrough Coop wickets were shared by Dawson (2-28), Tweedy (3-44) and Williams (4.44).
In Division Two Ormesby Hall A were all out in 38 overs for 88 when they visited Skelton Castle for whom Gareth Hogarth captured four wickets for 22 in ten overs. Skelton Castle won losing only one wicket as Geoff Stainthorpe hit ten fours in an unbeaten 66.
Normanby Parklands were all out for 94 runs with Roberts taking five for 28 and Ormesby Hall B went on to win for the loss of seven wickets as Averill finished unbeaten on 54.
Boosbeck defeated Cowpen Bewley B by five wickets at the end of a low scoring game. Havert contributed 52 runs to Cowpen Bewley's 80 all out with Ward taking four wickets for 24 runs in the Boosbeck attack.
Langbaurgh League
Swainby overtook Kildale's 76 all out with six wickets to spare. Martin Thompson took two of the four Swainby wickets to fall in 18 runs in 3.4 overs. He was overshadowed by Glen Shimwell who collected eight wickets for 43 runs in 15 overs when Kildale batted first and were all out for 76. The previous week Shimwell took seven wickets.
Hutton Rudby totalled 186 for five which included 66 by Perkins and 20 plus scores from Hunt, Pugh and John Bailey. In reply, Crathorne were 127 for eight after Mooney opened the innings and contributed 45. Bailey followed up his batting performace by taking six wickets for 48 in 17 overs, four being maidens.
East Harlsey overtook Chopgate's 145 for six with three wickets left. Lane top scored with 59 when Chopgate batted first while for East Harlsey Willey picked up four wickets for 57 runs.
In response, East Harlsey had Bliss (50) and Hodgson Jnr who made 32 to thank for their win while Chopgate's Cook had three for 66 and Lane three for 24.
Great Smeaton looked to be in a good position when they reached 171 for eight at home to Great Broughton. Mennell scored 87 while for Great Broughton Biddick had six for 47 while in reply Great Broughton lost an early wicket before Cook (86) and Tait (59no) led their side to an eight wickets win.
Ray Rix, four wickets for 47 runs, helped to set up Maltby's seven wickets victory at Stafford Place. When the home side batted first they were restricted to 140 for seven which included 43 by Simpson and 30 by Moore who both fell to Rix. In reply Maltby lost three early wickets but Morrow (61no) and Eland (45no) won it.
Garbutt (45) and Cowton (30) top scored in Thimbleby's 132 as Greensitt took five for 36. Scruton won losing two wickets when Norman carried his bat for 69.
