CLEVELAND Potash is promising a fun and informative day out for all the family on Saturday, July 1.
Visitors to the Potash 2000 event at CPL's Boulby Mine, near Loftus, will board a bus for a guided tour of the site, stopping off to see a simulation of what life is like underground and how potash ore is mined and transported to the surface.
Refreshments, competitions and goody bags for children will be on offer. Visitors will be able to see a new CPL video screened on a giant video wall along with displays on the mine's history, underground machinery, surface operations, geology, engineering, safety, first aid and rescue and the environment.
The National Parks Authority, local lifeboat, coastguard and scouting organisations and the Tom Leonard Museum will be represented.
The event is between 9am and 4pm and parking is available.
CPL has operated Boulby Mine for almost 30 years in the North Yorks Moors national park
