stunt mountain bike champion Jez Avery is this year's star attraction at Glaxo Wellcome's annual sports and gala day at Barnard Castle, County Durham, on July 1.
All Teesdale people and visitors from around the region are invited to join staff and their families at the Manor House Field, Harmire Road.
A free shuttle bus service to the sports field will operate at regular intervals from 12.30pm, picking up outside Addisons in Galgate, Barnard Castle. Parking is also available.
The day will begin at 1pm to the sounds of Barnard Castle Brass Band. For the children there will be a fairground, a magician and a bouncy castle.
There will also be an inflatable jungle run and miniature quad bikes for the more adventurous.
Back by popular demand is the Glaxo Wellcome fire engine, where children will have the opportunity to sit in the cab and talk to the firemen.
For those seeking thrills there will be an opportunity to ride the rodeo bull and attempt the bungee run. Visitors can also enjoy a programme of live music performed by a number of local bands during the course of the afternoon.
All funds raised on the day will be donated to the children's ward at Darlington Memorial and Bishop Auckland General Hospital."
Refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon, including all-day barbecue plus the traditional strawberries and cream teas.
Admission to the field is by programme, on sale at the gate for £1. Children and senior citizens attend free.
